About
Canmore Floods June 2013 from Glen Crawford on Vimeo.
We Canmorites know how unique and irreplaceable our town is. Untrammelled growth in development or business is not the route to long-term sustainability...I have weathered enough boom-and-bust, get-rich-quick-fast-and-dirty schemes and cycles to know it. Measured thoughtful growth, guided by long-term planning that is current and relevant, is the way to keep our community whole and healthy. That is what I will work to achieve now I sit on Canmore Town Council.
After the flood, my vision for the future of Canmore is clearer than ever to me: what I want to preserve in our community, what I want to work to improve. There are many competing interests here; the question is how to find balance yet welcome diversity?
Upcoming in this four-year term: rewriting the Municipal Development Plan, flood mitigation, redevelopment of the Rec Centre, Three Sisters Mountain Village development and whatever else rises up in the unforeseeable future. Stay involved and engaged - it is your town.
